Graci
Passopisciaro, Sicily
- Alberto Aiello Graci founded his winery in 2004 near Castiglione di Sicilia, northeast of Etna, an area with a millenary winemaking tradition
- The vineyards are located on the north face of the active volcano
- There, at an altitude of between 600 and 1100 m, in an area of 20 hectares, they grow mainly Nerello Mascalese, but also other exclusively indigenous varieties such as Carricante and Catarratto
- No chemical fertilizers are used so as not to disturb the ecological balance, the energy of the soil is used and there is no irrigation.
- The only treatment of the vineyards follows the guidelines of organic farming
- Alberto Graci has recently set up a joint venture with Angelo Gaja, the cult winemaker from Piedmont
