2017 Aldridge Rams Head Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon

Anbau
The vineyard from which the grapes are sourced for this wine was planted in 1989. The vines are trained to a double cordon with a single foliage wire. 

Ausbau
Grapes were harvested at around 13.5 Be. The must was fermented at temperatures, between 20 and 28 degrees in order to help extract flavour and colour components from the grape skins. The skins are gently pressed, insuring that soft tannins would be present in the final wine. The wine was then stored on Amercian oak staves and allowed to mature prior to bottling.

2017 Aldridge Abbott Peak Shiraz Merlot

Medium red with light purple hues. Hints of mint with spicy overtones on the nose. Medium bodied with simple rustic blackberry flavours, some minty freshness and balanced tannins.

80% Shiraz, 20% Merlot

Anbau
The Shiraz vines are grown on silty loam soils. The vines are 14 years old and are trained to a double cordon with a single foliage wire. The Merlot is planted on clay loam soil with a thin top layer of limestone gravel. 

Ausbau
Both the Shiraz and Merlot grapes were harvested while flavour and fruit are in balance. The must was fermented at temperatures between 20 and 28 degrees in order to help extract flavour and colour components from the grape skins. The skins were then gently pressed, with only the free run fraction being kept ensuring that soft tannins would be present in the final wine. The wine was then stored on French oak staves and allowed to mature prior to bottling.

2017 Currabridge Shiraz

Anbau
The Shiraz is grown on clay loam soils. The vines are 15 years old and are trained to a single cordon with two foliage wires.

Ausbau
The Shiraz were harvested at 13.0 Be, when flavour and colour indices were at the maximum. The must was fermented at temperatures between 18 and 25 degrees in order to help extract flavour and colour components from the grape skins. The skins were then gently pressed, with only the free run fraction being kept insuring that soft tannins would be present in the final wine. The wine was then stored on French oak staves and allowed to mature prior to bottling.

2014 Brookford Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon

Lots of berry and plum fruit, with spicy notes on the nose. A flavoursome palate with savoury stewed and currant fruit flavours, which merge well into lingering oak flavours and soft tannins.

Both the Shiraz and Cabernet grapes were harvested at over 13.0Be, as flavours became balanced. The must was fermented at temperatures, between 25 and 28 degrees in order to help extract flavour and colour components from the grape skins. The skins were then gently pressed with only the free run fraction being kept ensuring that soft tannins would be present in the final wine.

2013 Aldridge Tate Semillon Chardonnay

Lifted citrus lime fruits on the nose. Nicely balanced fruit sweetness on the palate consisting of soft peachy melon fruit, with a clean acidity on the palate.

Anbau

The grapes are lightly crushed insuring the free run juice extraction contains minimal phenolics. The juice is fermented on French oak staves to give complexity to the varietal fruit flavours.
