AOC ALSACE KLEVENER DE HEILIGENSTEIN 2016

In the glass glitters a bright yellow with green reflexes, while the first Nose of this Klevener de Heiligenstein 2016 first is strongly marked by cold fermenting aromas like jelly banana. With some air it reveals charismatic notes of odorant mountain hay, fresh cut grass and gooseberries, followed from liquorices, firestone and lime.

In the mouth pair off the delicate sweetness with the light acid and form with the racy body, as well as the rosy-spicy final a harmonious general impression. A young wine who needs some times and air to unfold completely his exciting authentic terroir.

Temp: 6-8°C | Storage: 6-8 years

Food pairing: Morbier and young mountain cheese, salad with Antipasti, exotic Curries and Chinese also spicy fried dishes.

AOC ALSACE CRÉMANT BRUT ROSÉ

The Crémant Rosé brut shines in a bright salmon colour, with fine sparkles bubbling in the glass. The first aromas remember lemon peel, strawberry jam and white pepper, together with crispy mineral notes. After a while, the wine opens up to an aromatic of apricots and strawberries. On the palate overall pleasant and harmonious balanced between strong body, extract and fresh fruit-acid, which is well supported by a tasty hint soft tannins. Powerfull crémant emphasizes with great talent for an ideal barbeque-companion and marvelous for warm summer evenings.

History

The Spirit of Maison Pierre Sparr Successeurs
Between passion and emotion…
The origin of the winemaking family Sparr goes back to 1680, as Jean Sparr was born. Under the influence of François Pierre Sparr in 1785 the vineyards were increased. Generations later, Charles Sparr developed the business, increasing the activities on the area of trade and regarding wine ageing. His son Pierre took the succession at the age of 20. His distinct sense for business made him a pioneer of the “estate bottling” of wines in Alsace. His motto was: “invest, progress and maintain”.

During WWII Sigolsheim and its vineyards have been completely destroyed. With a lot of courage and obstinacy Pierre Sparr rebuilt one of Alsace’s most beautiful and prestigious Domaines. His sons René and Charles contributed to the enlargement of the vineyards and the development of the European markets which gave a new dimension to the company. Nowadays, with the help of the 9th generation, the aim is still to perpetuate tradition, passion and emotion.
