Stefan and Daniel Huff both have professional education in the form of a Bachelor in Viticulture and Oenology and have extensive experience in different German wine regions, including Mosel, Ahr and Rheinhessen as well as significant international experience in Austria and Australia. Stefan and Daniel are the winemakers and authority for the wines.
Our philosophy to making the best wine includes cultivating and picking the best grapes from our vineyards. To ensure the highest quality significant work is done during the growing stages through harvest of the grapes, including defoliation, setting down the yield, cutting grapes in half, selective hand picking….In the cellar we ensure the highest quality with a gentle processing. We give our wines time to ripen and ensure we maintain the character of each wine.
The quality of our wines stems from the vineyards. We cultivate 25 hectares, with the main parts along the slopes of the Roter Hang (Red Slope) directly on the Rhine (River), providing the natural sunlight and water reflection that produce our quality grapes. With slopes up to 60%, directly on the Rhine. The reflection off the Water and the benefits of the red soil ripen the Riesling grapes to perfection.
Um gesunde und vollreife Trauben zu ernten setzen wir auf die Pflege der Weinberge. Dazu gehören für uns Maßnahmen wie entblättern, ausdünnen, Traubenteilung und die selektive Handlese.
Die dadurch erreichte Qualität versuchen wir durch schonende Verarbeitung zu bewahren. Das Werden des Weins begleiten wir behutsam, um seine individuelle Charakteristik zur Entfaltung zu bringen.
