The change in Monastrell winemaking – From young or family-run, long-established businesses, t he new generation of winemakers is bringing about change and a breath of fresh air in Murcia, with its wine regions Jumilla, Yecla, and Bullas. The session invites you to discover the terroir-transparent new direction of Monastrell, a grape variety with a traditionally dense structure and high tannin content, which makes it very long-lasting. But alternative forms of vinification, such as ceramic or concrete, give the new Monastrells excitement, individuality, and a unique recognition value. Smaller producers in particular are driving the Monastrell revolution forward – with their finer, more precise and more individual styles that nevertheless unmistakably reflect their origins. This applies not only to red wines, but also impressively to modern rosados. The result? See for yourself.
